Here is where we get to see some unique behind the scene pictures of the very involved painting process Jeff uses to achieve his realistic fish mounts!
Below is a series of pictures while Jeff is painting a 20 pound Kamloops rainbow trout in his studio.
The finished skin mount ready for painting. ↑
The undercoats have been applied, and now we see the first area to be scale painted with bright silver. ↑
All the scales have been painted. Front portion showing gold back scales, midsection silver and belly tipping. ↑
The same shot with transparent colors being added. Part of the head still needs to be finished. ↑
The finished fish with spots and other details added. All the vibrant colors of the live fish have been restored. ↑
