How its Done
Here is where we get to see some unique behind the scene pictures of the very involved
painting process Jeff uses to achieve his realistic fish mounts!
Below is a series of pictures while Jeff is painting a 20 pound Kamloops rainbow
trout in his studio.

The finished skin mount ready for painting. ↑

The undercoats have been applied, and now we see the first area to be scale painted
with bright silver. ↑

All the scales have been painted. Front portion showing gold back scales, midsection
silver and belly tipping. ↑

The same shot with transparent colors being added. Part of the head still needs
to be finished. ↑

The finished fish with spots and other details added. All the vibrant colors of
the live fish have been restored. ↑
